We partnered with Remember The Date to deliver a technology project that launched e-commerce using ingenious software.
Entrepreneur Lauren Nicholson had an idea, an amazing idea. She wanted to create a better kind of interactive greetings card business – one that didn’t just let you personalise cards.
Lauren’s business was going to remember to send the cards for you and make sure you never missed an important occasion again. We worked in collaboration with Lauren and her graphic design agency, Side by Side, to co-create the online application from the ground up.
Lauren graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2012 and already knew that her original career choice of investment banking really wasn’t going to be for her. The entrepreneurship bug had bitten and, with the help of the Princes Trust, Remember the Date began to take shape.
“I had my idea and knew I needed a web developer, but things didn’t get off to the best start.
The first person I was recommended to just didn’t deliver and two months went by. I really needed to get going and resorted to Google and contacting 5 or 6 local companies. Eventually, I got put in touch with Jamie and the team and we clicked right away.” – Lauren Nicholson
Remember the Date aims to produce very high quality cards and a shopping experience that is as enjoyable as going into a bricks and mortar card shop, whilst adding in the convenience of an online application.
Elements that we built into the site to merge the physical and the digital include:
Live, real-time card customisation that finally produces a high resolution, print-ready file including crop and fold marks to meet the printer’s specifications.
Customer engagement tactics such as playful animations and friendly characters, plus the ability to start customising cards right away without having to sign-up first.
Facebook integration for contacts and special dates, plus clever scheduling of reminders and configurable alerts.
Optimised mobile version of the site which adapts to the context to take into account the different way that customers will use the site on a mobile device.
And, behind the scenes, comprehensive metrics that provide useful data on the impact of marketing activity.
