Super organised, check. Amazing with people, check. Always thinking 5 steps ahead, check. Love making lists, urm, check?
Agile, waterfall, chaos - they all have one thing in common, people. However a project is run, all of the successful ones have one thing in common; great people with the right mindset.
We believe that excellent programme and project management is a key ingredient to success. We are looking for someone who understands the balance between vision and practicality and who is a stickler for getting things right, on time and on budget and being flexible throughout the process to make this happen.
Now let’s get to the most important bit of this - you! You may currently be in a similar role looking for a new adventure or the next challenge. You may be in a slightly different role, maybe working as a project manager and looking for your next challenge to fulfill the desire to be stretched. We don’t expect you to have 10 years of experience doing exactly this and we certainly don’t expect you to “know everything”.
We are looking for the following traits:
Let’s delve into each of these in a bit more detail.
Think like a grandmaster Grandmasters don’t think about their next move, they think about 12 moves ahead and this is what a programme manager does. They are real-life AlphaGo’s and have an uncanny ability to take action now that unravels to be as elegant as move 37. If you haven’t seen the documentary, you might enjoy it.
Be prepared Good scouts are always prepared and you are too. You are proactive rather than reactive and you like to sit in quadrant 2 of the Eisenhower Decision Matrix. Chance favours the prepared mind and this is you all over.
Be “on-it” Being on it is a synergy or even a result of thinking like a grandmaster and being prepared. You are ON-IT! Very rarely do you get a curveball you hadn’t anticipated or at least got an avenue for. You are already “on-it” before people even notice it’s a “thing”, that’s how on-it you are!
An Interest and Passion for Technology Loving what you do is important. Being able to relate and get excited about what we do is important. You don’t have to be able to write code, or create a machine learning model but be interested and inquisitive about them and truly want to learn more. The interest breeds a deeper understanding and empathy for what you are focusing on. We love technology and people thrive here who love technology too.
Now you have a bit more of an understanding of the type of person we are after, here are a few of the tasks and responsibilities that you would have:
A little bit about us and Razor. Razor is a technology consultancy. Strangely for a technology consultancy, we put technology after people. People come first which is why we always look to understand first, then respond. We don’t have a single product and we are constantly developing the future. We help organisations develop strategies and forge the vision of their future and we create disruptive and sustaining innovations. We work with the latest technologies and move quickly. The pace is fast, really fast and we have a lot of fun on the journey.
We believe that we have a strong positive and energetic culture. You will hear phrases like “leave your ego at the door” and “go forth and do something and ask for forgiveness if it doesn’t work”. We pride ourselves on encouraging people to push the boundaries and to have autonomy. We provide the direction and support, you bring the passion, energy and ideas to help us get there.
Some might refer to these as benefits, we don’t, we believe these are the basics;
And we're working to introduce even more!
The real benefits that are harder to replicate;
There are more benefits of working at Razor.
You are interested, aren't you? Of course you are, who wouldn't be! We bet that you are thinking, what do I do now? The answer; get in touch.
