We don't really want someone to do "hard sales" that's not very Razor at all. We want someone who loves technology, gets the positive impact that it can have on people and organisations and articulates how Razor can help drive positive change with technology. We want someone who can create a clear strategy (a posh word for plan) and then most importantly execute that plan.

The Head of Commercial role at Razor is all about relationships. You will be the connector, energiser, problem solver and opportunity go-getter. Clients will love you and our Account Directors inspired by you. You and your crystal ball (and by that we mean market analysis, research and having your ear to the ground) will keep us abreast of the future landscape and opportunities to capture. You will keep us on track in terms of commercial deliverables and enhance our growth trajectory.

You will be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), bringing your solutionizing, right-side brain thinking to business-wide opportunities, challenges and ideas. You will collaborate with your SMT peers, learning and sharing to increase the commerciality of each business area and setting us up to make the most of new business opportunities.

As Head of Commercial, your focus will be creating and implementing your commercial strategy, and ensuring our portfolio reflects the goals of the strategy. You will identify growth markets and adventure into profitable spaces. Your transformational leadership of the Account Directors and Marketing Executive will create a team effort towards financial milestones and key metrics. 📈

As you can tell, this role centres around our clients. Your strengths lie in negotiation, consultation and - very importantly - relationship building. 😻 You will ensure clients receive exemplary service and unbelievable experiences. You will create conversations with new and existing clients about the possibilities of the future, and be creative in how you build commercially compelling and technological inspiring strategies. Don’t panic, you won’t need to get into the depths of technical chitchat, but you will know enough to excite, inspire and ask great questions.

  • Create and implement commercial strategies to achieve commercial and company objectives
  • Demonstrate your proven commercial skills in structuring and negotiating different pricing arrangements, as well as the key components that can enhance profitability
  • Establish strategic alliances, partners and clients in accordance with Razor’s long-term planning and expansion goals
  • Creative conversations with clients about possible technology strategies
  • Superb communication skills, inquisitive and proactive and comfortable pitching technological solutions to senior stakeholders
  • Analytically uncover opportunities, forecast accurately and understand results and outcomes
  • Recognise rising markets and market movements while staying informed about new opportunities
  • Ownership of the market strategy to reflect market movements and Razor’s vision
  • Gravitas, integrity and the ability to quickly gain the confidence of an already successful Account Director team
